How to take good care
of your Tattoo
As soon as
you are done with your tattoo I’m sure you are going to think about how
you are going to take care of it. Remember that once you leave the
tattoo parlor, the tattoo artist is not going to be responsible for any
problems you might have later on if you fail to take care of your tattoo
properly. Tattoo care is very
important and vital for you to avoid any kind of infection. Even a great
tattoo may easily turn into a terrible disaster if you neglect it or
fail to take proper care of it after the procedure.
Preceding your exit from the
tattoo parlor, the tattoo artist will cover your fresh tattoo with a
bandage. This is done in order to prevent bacteria as well as an
infection. It is important that you do not remove the bandage for two
hours subsequent to the tattoo.

After removing the bandage,
the next best thing to do is to wash the tattoo. Use lukewarm water and
liquid antibacterial soap in order to wash the ointment and blood from
the tattoo area. Make sure you do not use a washcloth or any other rough
or coarse material. On the other hand your hand will do just fine. If
you follow these simple instructions on tattoo
care your tattoo shall be
just fine and you will face no problems.
Pat the area of the tattoo
firmly with a clean sanitized towel in order to get it completely dry,
after this use a bit of the ointment. The ointment must have vitamin A
and D in it. However, an alternate to it is, Bacitracin or a parallel
antibacterial ointment is okay. These tips are very useful for proper tattoo
care.
Make sure that you do not use
Neosporin, though it is great for cuts and wounds it does not do as well
for tattoos. Some people may have an allergic reaction to Neosporin and
hence may cause little red bumps which when they disappear, make the ink
disappear as well.
When you are done using the
ointment for 3 to 5 days, make sure that the tattoo is constantly looked
after and kept clean, after this you can start using mild lotion instead
of the ointment. The objective of this is to keep your skin soft and
vary from any infection. Ensure that you use lotions free from dye and
any kind of fragrances. If
you’re looking for the best tattoo
care for your tattoo then,
Euchring lotion does best for a number of people.
Taking a shower with your new
tattoo is advisable but, only while it is okay to get your tattoo
slightly wet. Do not soak it or get soap on it yet. Also, avoid swimming
regardless of whether you are swimming in a pool or in the sea.
In a few days time your tattoo
will start peeling and scabbing a little. If the scabbing is a lot then
it may mean that the tattoo has been done badly. Apply moist compresses
to your scabs for 5 minutes at least two or three times a day. This will
soften it and the scabs will come off on their own much later. Tattoo
care means that you will
experience some minor discomfort when your tattoo begins to heal but
do not pick at it or scratch it.
Proper tattoo
care recommends that you stay
out of the sun so long as the tattoo is still sore. Restrict the amount
of friction or rubbing from clothes,
also avoid putting your tattoo under running water.

Many people, when
they get tattoos don’t consider that after tattoo
care is very essential. Since
tattoos are so popular, many people don’t think at all before they get
one. People get so caught up in the excitement of getting tattoos that
they don’t even consider the consequences. Many of them not only fail to
consider after tattoo care,
but don’t even think about which tattoo design to get. So, once you’ve
chosen the perfect tattoo for yourself, remember that it doesn’t end
there. If you don’t want anything to go wrong with your tattoo, you must
